    As8 -- >> Raid --->>>vista Ultimate

    Hi all.
I have an AS8 and very happy with it.
I am about to put 2 x 200GB SATAs in and want the RAID 0 CFG.

Will i be able to use the RAID/SATA Floppy that came with the board to achieve this?
If not...what can i do as i have looked for link/updates/etc etc and had no luck.

If i do need additional/updated software i would really appreciate a link.

(I have been running RAID 0 happily with XP Pro for about a year now so im happy to set up....just require a little advice thats all)

Yes should work fine m8 - at least for Vista 32bit. You might need signed 64bit drivers (no experience with this one yet) on Vista 64bit tho.

Vista shouldn't need any sata drivers. But I will confirm this tomorrow for you.

    No confirmation

    SO

I tried it and NO it doesnt have native drivers within Vista. I used the floppy disk that came with the mobo.

I would've expected ABIT personnel to know about their products a little better tbh.

    NM...the answer is there.

I had to feed my intel drivers (for RAID) to Vista so i'm not surprised tbh. At least you can feed it a USB key instead of a floppy thesedays

I was unaware that the vista required RAID drivers. I was under the impression that they were incorporated into vista.

    I gotta say:

I thought ABIT were a decent company and their product were worthy

Never again will i buy from them....its nothing to do with the fact that the RAID didnt work!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are only interested in products recently bought.

They just couldnt be bothered to answer a REAL question

    BUY ASUS FROM NOW ON!!!!!!!!!!

Seeing as RAID drivers for Vista are down to the chipset manufacturer (that'll be Intel), I think you're barking up the wrong tree having a go at ABIT.

Intel have 32-bit Vista RAID subsystem drivers, so get them from them. You can't really expect ABIT to take those drivers and package them up for a product that's both discontinued, and doesn't carry the "designed for Vista" logo... it'd be a bonus if they did, but given that they don't all you have to do is get the driver off Intel...

I think that may be a little unfair saying i was 'having a go' at ABIT.

I asked a question thats all and didn't get an answer.

I love their boards but didnt receive an answer. I also emailed Customer Support 3 days ago and didn't receive anything from that either.

Not the best support i'm sure you would agree.

Unfortunately ABIT seem only interested in products they have sold in the last 6 months and nothing else.

(Hopefully this is correct to air these views here)
