Could be a damaged PCI-e slot, try a single card in each slot you have. Have you tried safe mode?
Best thing I could recommend is to try the card on another computer to confirm whether it is the card or your pc.

Unfortunately your post at the moment leaves a lot of information out to say the least!

Could you start by listing the following:
    • your HD7870 make & model.
    • your mobo make & model.
    • your PSU make & model and wattage.
    • did plug in both of the cards PCI-Express power adapters
    • Whether the card displays anything at POST or the BIOS.
    • Whether your mobo beeps with an error.
    • And whether Windows boots even with the display not working (this will be somewhat subjective unless you have remote desktop enabled and are able to remote in once Windows has booted, or of course you have Windows set to make a sound when up).

Once you've listed that, we might be able to help otherwise it's pure guesswork.
