I think there may be a possible MMC 9.06/9.08 to Theater 550 Pro MOD

I don’t know if anyone is interested,…personally I am not and would never try it,…however if anyone else is and the moderators don’t mind (I’ll PM them about it to find out) I’ll post up the info,….mod willing that is.

Well, I meant encoding to DD when capturing (instead of encoding to MPEG audio).

I would love to give it a try next time I do a fresh install. currenty still tolerating Powercinema for my 550, and mmc 908 for my AIW X600, ATI DTV Wonder with XP.
I had come close with MMC 903 , many installs ago.
I still have hope ATI will someday support the 550 with MMC.

Well install the latest drivers 6.14.10.86
I'm still not very impressed at all still all very same major problem as before
1: cthelper.exe still crash at boot up
2: Still can't use diff video resolution like 352x480
3: Audio level still way to low even know it MAX out to 255 at lease the FM part rigth on the money.
4: The MPEG files generated by the Theater 550 Pro are not very compatible with some tools like let say Ulead DVD MovieFactory when I try set up auto 1 min chapters point it carp out after 6 min's in to it and using Womble MPEG-VCR MPEG "GOP fixer" I fine it show lot's of error in GOP time code which not good at all, But writing out a new files with Womble MPEG-VCR fix the problem.

1. I removed cthelper.exe from autoloading in registry - no more crashes. I haven't noticed any difference from any app in sound either.

2. Same here, but why bother with different resolutions in MPEG2 if you are going to re-encode it in MPEG4 anyway?

3. Don't have any problems with audio levels - recorded files have more or less the same volume levels as files I download from the net.

4. Yep, but right tools fix it - I use PVAstrument to demux files and Cutterman to cut commercials - works like a charm, very vast, easy and ABSOLUTELY FREE.

Same here: pvastrumento + cutterman. I use to use MPEG2Schnitt, but I think I like cutterman better.

Anyone has a problem of noise with their T550 card? I am using the same signal on T550 and TV Wonder Pro and I have this annoying noise on the top of the screen with T550.

Ok for some reason the board froze and I lost what I typed. Let me try this again. I have the same noise you speak of with the TV Wonder Elite. I was using a Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600 128MB DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card with two TV Wonder Elite's.

I started a complete rebuild of my system's OS and have installed my dependable MSI RX9550SE-TD128 Radeon 128MB DDR AGP vid card. Unfortunately, it's memory interface is 64bit.

My only question to all of you is, what is the best vid card to use with S-Vid out. I primarily use MCE 2005.

Thank for let me know you where using Composite and S-Video inputs I'm using the Tuner.
Fooit is it white lines dots and dashs showing in the below screenshot at very top of this screenshot it most like just Closed Caption info and you can't just get rid of it do to the way Hardware Encoder work which do not crop and re-size the image.
