Supposedly these leaked drivers fix the dual T550P bug in BTV3 and BTV4.
At least that’s what they are saying over at the snapstream forums.

In a way it makes a lot of sense to bundle a number of drivers for different types of ATI products in one driver release but then again it could get rather bloated if they do.
I would have tried the new drivers but I have had some problems recently with System64-X2 and have only recently addressed and fixed them,….all. I don’t want to go messing it up now with new unofficial drivers.
Although, I just tried the new AVIVO AvivoXCode video converter that has been modified to run whether you have an X1000 class card or not,….that’s about as adventurous as I get for now.

I also bought a HDTV OTA tuner card from Fry's Electronics. $69.95 after rebate and it comes with BTV 3.8 SE. I've since upgraded to BTV 4 for multi-tuner support.

It’s great that that this rather nasty dual T550P + BTV bug has been fixed. Here’s what they are saying about it in the BTV forums:

Thanks for the news. How is the new HDTV card? I had my eye on the Dvico Gold from Snapstream for $150 given cable support.Originally Posted by jonaslasky

I've not fully checked out the HDTV card because my antenna isn't that great. I'm trying to connect an existing UHF antenna that the previous homeowner has installed in the attic. I'll let you know how BTV4 works with HDTV.

I have down 5.13 and check them out but why ATI doing that why not allow ATI 550 user download a small files god I hate download BIG files.
Update there are no newer drivers in 5.13 in fact there are no ATI 550 drivers in it at all.

If there are no new 550 drivers, then what has fixed the 2 tuner issue for 550 users employing BTV?Originally Posted by SHSPVR

The great thing about HDTV is it doesn't need encoding... so no CPU utilization to speak of. Playback (decoding) is a different matter. It really taxes the CPU. With my old GeForce 5200FX card, it ain't pretty watching so called "live" TV. Recording it first then watching it is a little easier... but even then I might need a 6XXX series GeForce+ PureVideo to do the trick. I tried recording then transcoding to DVD and that came out really beautiful on the DVD player. On par with the best store bought DVDs. Lovely, lovely colors and resolution.

Guys,
You did recognize you're writing in an ATI multimedia care forum, did you? With X1k series we score 108 points in HQV Video tests, so I don't see (and like) why any recommendations for NVidia hardware should be discussed here.
Have a look at http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/...ty/default.asp , and you will see ATI has the better video quality anyway. And we don't charge extra for quality, if you know what I mean
Cheers,
