    Andrzej or Michael:
Is it really NORMAL that the card is THAT hot???
I mean, I have a fan blowing right over it and it is still terribly hot...

And something I still don't get answered; what happened with the dolby digital encoding support (why is sapphire the only one that says its supported)?
When will there be a driver update that fixes the 3D, 2D and noise reduction filters settings and adds proper 3D comb filtering?

    Cheers.

SageTV come with all it and plug-in but if don't have it rigth here
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/deinterlace/
Sorry there no plug-in when downlaod
Besure you not run some that make use of the card
Try reset the device by disable the card in the device manager and re enable it or reboot the system.

Could anyone try to determine the actual capture window of these cards?
    http://www.doom9.org/capture/capture_window.html
I did the test, and I ended up with 720 captured pixels, but I'm not sure I did it right
Can anyone do it (or can Andrzej or Michael answer this)?

    Cheers.

I have it on good authority that gbpvr will soon turn its attention to adding 550 support. It should come after the latest release, which is just on the horizon. I recommend checking the site next week for the newest release if you run non-550 cards. I run 2 150's, and should benefit from this release. I suspect soon after that release, 550 support will follow.

If you have not used gbpvr , you will be pleasantly suprised at what a great program it is. Don't believe the supported card list; there are many supported cards that are not on the list. The Hauppauge 150 is a good example.

You can't give up--you started this thread. How would that look? I believe gbpvr support is just around the corner.

I just got to put in my 2 cents:
WOW what a thread, I should have come here first.
All I wanted was the best TV Wonder (Elite 550) to work (As Advertised),
In my new MSI NEO 4 Platinum, with a new AIW X600 pro (PCIXpress), on XP .
My history with my ATI Elite 550 is long and frustrating to say the least.
I still have hope ATI is "listening" and going to FIX MMC .
MMC 9.3 absolutely works with the 550 loaded as TV2 or DTV.
i had used all the latest drivers with the same result, video locks up after a few random minutes. BUT it worked. Analog cable video quality and capture is the best I have seen other than real DTV.
Now that MMC 9.6 is out, It no longer will detect the Elite. nice fix
So I have also given up for now. I must be fair and admit i now feel Powercinema is ttolerable.
At least they both now function in the same machine. the Plus Remote now works with MMC 9.6 too.
Its obvious MMC support was there original intent.
Im sure ATI doesnt want to let down all 40,000 readers of this thread !.
The 550 hardware rocks ! , I believe the software will come eventually.
    from ATI or not.

    Man, we sure hope so...

I suppose I should be happy that many other chips have been supported over the years by DIY'ers out there. The Conexant BT848/878 is a great example. VirtualDub, VirtualVCR, SAGETV, IUVCR, GBPVR, et al... Let's see them get their hands on the 550 Pro and really write some code for this baby. Maybe ATI counted on this all along? It'd sure be a shrewd move on their part to artificially create a cult status and underground movement for this card by denying the support they promised. Indy software coders and enthusiasts would be pig-piling on to help make it the best it can be. ATI just sits back and watches sales go up as folks realize there's support for the chip at last.

    Shrewd, ATI. Real Shrewd.

Am I crazy here, you guys...?

You could turn out to be absolutely right... I think you got something here. I suppose I should at least e-mail the VirtualVCR people.

Just back from 3.56 million meetings at CeBIT
(OK - maybe that is a slight exageration - but it was still a lot !)

I had a chat with the guys at InterVideo and they confirmed that 550 support was gonna happen reeeeal soon - so 'watch this space'

    Welcome back.

Any chance Cyberlink will add free EPG and save location support soon for those with 550 cards, followed by bitrate control? Perhaps they can fix their software with baby steps.

    Thanks for the Intervideo update.

Yes but... will the support be released for their lame Home Theater or will their superior Windvr3 (with it's ability to set bitrates) also be supported?
