I found the opposite... having owned hauppage and leadtek analogue tuners, neither hold a candle compared to my 550 for pulling in channels. Outside of that, people are expecting to much... they see 12bit tuner and think "whoa" this will be killer but the reality is, 10bit tuners display more colour than the human eye can perceive.... all 12bit means is that shades/gradients/blends will be more smooth and natural to the eye. It doesn't do anything for making a sharper picture per se. Sharpness depends on the algorithms used by the card maker and until ATI gets off its ass and enables the control in drivers all we can do is wait. I could be wrong but I'm just going by 10/12 bits as used by colour theory and design prog such as photoshop etc.Originally Posted by satnav4
