This will be one of the best tunners out there! I am waiting for it to hit the shelfs... So, what do yous think of it? Will you be getting one? How much do you think they will cost? And yes thats a 16 meg SD chip for buffering on that card...

Edit! they will be out soon! "The NTSC version of the chip will ship next month, with the PAL version following in November. The chip is sampling now." Oh, joy!

"ATI said. A range of products from firms such as Gigabyte and Microstar are expected to appear on retail shelves within the next few weeks. Tul used the opportunity to already announce its product, named Powercolor Theater 550 Pro today."

Demo can de found here: http://www.ati.com/products/theater550/index.html

Edit: Just found out the price! "Mike Kreiten, ATI: THEATER 550 PRO products will be sold by our partners listed in the presentation. First configurations are our single tuner, PCI or PCI-E, optional Low-Profile boards. They will support FM radio and Video inputs. North American pricing will be 99$, European prices will be determined by our partners."

Does anybody know whether ATI's "Multimedia Center" video capture software will work with any of the 3rd party tv cards utilizing this chip? Or, will I have to wait for ATI's card to come out?

Atis new tunner will suport 3 different programs, the two listed above and the media center crap from ati... It dont mater who made the card... I dont know where, but I read that ati wont be making the cards them self... But this could be wrong... Oh, and welcome! Please if you have any questions about this card please ask me! I have become obsessed with it!

omg! all thoes links I posted... and you still are cluless! Well it has much better quaility! Suposidly the best there is!

    • Hardware-accelerated video processing with a high-end 3D comb filter enhances fine-detail video fidelity.
    • Advanced personal video recording capabilities and superior lower-bitrate MPEG-2 encoding enables more video content to be recorded to a single DVD-R/DVD-RW disk.
    • Built-in digital audio capture enables perfectly synchronized video and audio
    • Intelligent noise reduction algorithm cleans up snow and other unsightly artifacts from your video source with dedicated hardware, resulting in better looking captures that take up less disk space

    Edit: oh, and welcome!
