Antec 920 H2O screws too short and mystery part in package
Hi I just got my 920 and have installed it but the screws provided were too short.

If I removed the supplied washers there was enough thread to mount it. The issue was because the supplied screws had a countersunk head and when used with the supplied washers prevented the head from sinking into the larger holes in the case and fans (see pic), so you will lose quite a bit of length. Actually when pushing the screws into the supplied fans they didn't even protrude from the bottom of the fan when used with the washers.

I have got it all mounted fine now without using the washers. I followed the instructions to mount it and at the end I noticed this plastic ring that's not mentioned in the manual anywhere (in pics above). Im guessing this fits on the cpu bracket before pushing and twisting to lock the pump/cpu block on it?
Other than these little niggles I was very happy with the quality and performance of this item. The CPU mount bracket was very secure and being able to position the pump/cpu block and many different angles was a great feature that other companies seem to have dropped now. I have quite bit more over clocking headroom now :D
Another question: is it ok to just have the pump plugged in to the motherboard and use it without plugging the USB lead in? The pump seems to be running fine but no RPM measurement is reported and the light isnt lit up on the cpu block (Ive also got the cpu fans plugged straight into the motherboard).
Thanks
Sammy

same here screws too short, Case is Lian Li A10. Never did figure out the bracket so its sitting in a box somewhere. I am going to take the Antec screws to a local ironmonger and see if he has any.

I ended up swapping the screws and using the screws and washers that came with my old corsair H50. They had a good deal more thread than the antec ones. It just didnt feel safe\secure using the antec ones (even without using the washers - you would only get 1.5 lines of thread protruding through the case and fan to mount the radiator too).
The screws seem totally wrong for this job?

I agree hopefully fixed at some point.

I believe that plastic circle is used to help hold the mounting bracket onto the pump when screwing it into the motherboard.

Hah I wish the damned instructions would show this then.

I have just bought a Antec 620 for a new build and I have the same mounting system as this and the instructions just do not show what you should be doing with this plastic circle.
Thankfully after several minutes having a think and a bit of messing around I figured it out.
But please please Antec SORT OUT YOUR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS as they are dire and this is a shame because the cooler is a cracking bit of kit.
