The battery life has doubled as well. That's the most tempting factor to me.
That the LED display, very tempting to me too, thought its that OR the 17" display. I need to resist and make my old powerbook last longer though. Drooling is free though ;).
Yeah, I was going to upgrade my 17" MBP I got at Xmas, but it's really not worth the upgrade until they are doing 1920x1200 LCDs.
Are all of these screen LED screens ?
My mac will get nowhere near 6hrs ... Its a 2ghz core2 with 1gb RAM etc ... Actual battery life is around 3hrs.
Is it the Santa Rosa stuff thats increasing the battery life that much (maybe in combination with a LED screen) or Apple just being spec-happy ?
Supposedly the LCDs use much less power than the 'normal' screens in the MBPs.
The 17" @ 1920x1200 aren't the new LCD backlit ones - that's only for the 15" MBPs - unless I've misread the press release?
Nope, you're right on, I would guess that its because of a lack of 17" LED parts.
Its interesting to notice that apple has been pretty toned down about the displays, no doubt for that reason.
So the 13.3" macbooks dont have the LED backlit displays either ?
The Macbooks don't have LED displays yet. I hope they will when they get updated next time.
A Macbookpro is getting more and more tempting :)
