or 24'' - apologies for picking up on that, just didn't want people with a 24'' screen to be put of this bargin little bit of kit.

It is Inevitable.....
Black mac mini ... under the tv as an htpc sounds extremely interesting.
Thanks for link!
You could draw one on?
I didn't like any of the white Macs so I would take any of my comments with that bared in mind, not because I'm a troll just that I don't like that sort of thing.
In general it gets the thumbs up, personally the nicest looking iMac since the CRT ones. I hated the cheese-board ones, but as said white isn't my cuppatea.
I like the detailing and materials, just looks good in my opinion, personally anodise it black and I'd be seriously tempted. Heck I must be a wee bit goth deep down.
Keyboard, hmm, I love the Macbook keyboard, but on the desktop it just looks somehow wrong. I've just shifted back to a proper keyboard from a hybrid laptop/desktop type and I really don't mind the thickness.
Might Mouse, the least said the better.
If it weren't for warranty reasons and that I bought a new PC recently I would consider getting one, ebaying the keyboard and mouse. My plans are still unchanged with a Black Macbook with ungimped graphics in the future (even just a half decent Intel Chipset if such a thing will ever exist).
oh-er i do like them - 20 inch as standard
i cant say im not tempted, i would get the base spec one as it seems wasteful spending £100 to get a bigger harddrive and a 2600.
but how does the graphics card in the base spec one (2400) compare with the last generation, i.e. what is it equivalent with? 7300 ?
would it be comfortable playing counterstrike and bf2 (with extra gig) ?

i hate them (apple) i fell in love with the glossy screen so now i have to either sell it or save up to get another... damn!!!
just looked here (thanks to someone else posting it in another thread) and it seems that even the 2400 seems a fairly competent card, near the 6600gt / 7600gs

But almost no much better than the X1600's in the older iMacs :S

Imperius (VM Server): 2x Intel 5640, 64Gb RAM, 2x1Tb, 6x Intel NIC, VMware ESX 5.5
Tyrael (File Server): Synology DS410 w/ 4x HD154UI; 2Gb RAM; DSM 5.2
especially at the resolution of the 20 inch screens, but you can always force the games to run at lower resolutions to stretch it...
im just holding out to see if the special student offer and leopard coincide...

They normally give you cashback (via redemption) when you buy an ipod with any mac at the same time just before term starts. It normally bags you a free ipod nano, or a very cheap ipod video...
They have a similar offer going on at the moment in the US so can only assume it will come to the UK again, they have had it the past few years. BUt this is ontop of your normal student discount on the hardware
Tho the sales rep didnt know anything about it at the moment, so fingers crossed...
