Mac Live Expo

I had the afternoon free and popped into the MacLive Expo in Olympia. The last time I went to a Mac expo must have been in the early 90s, and wow, things are looking a bit dire in comparison. Very much smaller than the last one I remember, and Apple isn't even present.

I picked up a Crumpler bag for £25 off (which was nice, as I'd been wanting to get one), and Elgato is offering some good discounts on their gear, but few real bargains apart from that (though often the best ones are to be had in the dying hours when the exhibitors want to avoid carting their stock back).

I agree. I have been going every year and this year was the smallest I have ever seen it. The fact that Apple aren't exhibiting must have a knock-on effect with other exhibitors. It's strange as Apple as a company and brand has never been doing better, but I suspect Apple doesn't see exhibiting at the show as value for money any more - these days they have other ways of 'getting the word out'.
