    Xp.mac

    Anyone know if you can install WinXP on a mac g4 ibook or powerbook. Also does win XP come with drivers for the disc drives etc.

    Only via emulation, the best at the moment being virtual pc. I think a GHz plus G4 will give approximately a PII-300 in performance, from what I have gathered, but that is a very, very rough estimate please don't use it as anything else.

    In short, if you really want WinXP, buy an Intel/AMD 32 or 64-bit x86 compatible, not a PowerPC!

    Even via emulation methods of running XP on an ibook or pB, I very much doubt that the MAC specific hardware pieces would automatically install drivers for the components.
