About LinkBacksHi just seen one of these for sale quiet cheap however its described as for mac's. I assume its still PCI-E is it possible to put this in a normal pc running xp or vista?

i think it just means that it is supplied with apple drivers...

That's what used to be done to the old 3dfx Voodoo cardsWas easy to make them PC<>Mac.
With macs now being x86 based, I'm not sure if a flash is still required. If that's all it needs it's easy to do
forgot to add this to the post last nite:
on further googling iv found a forum claiming the MAC 8800 GT has a different firmware from a normal PC 8800gt. I have found a guide on how to flash the card but cant find posts that claim its been done. Only pc 8800gt to mac firmware. but you would think if it can be flashed one way it can be flashed the other anyway.
Mightymouse can you link me to a retailer at these prices. its defo a 8800/9800gt im after struggling to find 2nd hand and i dont want to pay anymore than £70 bucks for it. Ill take the risk at a good £30 cheaper than PC version and report back.

Only 256mb, but right in your budget. Free delivery from Scan too. You're looking at around 80-100 new for a 512mb version.
Ebay however.. You can probably pick a 512 up for 70 no problems.
You'll need to clarify how cheap you saw the mac version though, i can't find any that are cheaper than the windows versions.
got my eye on a few on ebay. Just been forgetting missed a bloody 8800ultra at £74 the other day :/ oops. I guess i just gotta stick in there n be ready next time.
