Re: Anyone bought the new Macbook?
I haven't seen inside the macbook so I can't comment on space, but the pro certainly has a bit of space for another USB.
I still think higher res screens should be an option. Sometimes the 1400x900 res doesn't offer enough room when I'm out the office without the external display.
I was just being anal about the mouse pad (I do like the streamlined look) - anyways if I want buttons I can always use an external mouse.
Re: Anyone bought the new Macbook?
Well, after the debacle around the HDCP stuff, I think I'm going to go for a 2.4GHz old gen Macbook Pro...
Re: Anyone bought the new Macbook?
You can probably pick an "old" pro up at quite a good discount especially if you can get one or know someone who can get an education discount.

Seems bonkers to buy the older version just over that.
Re: Anyone bought the new Macbook?
To be fair, it isn't the only reason. The fact I could get the old model very very well spec'd for 850 quid (second hand) compared to 1200 (from Dixons tax free) for the new one, coupled with the gloss screen and HDCP stuff does tempt me.
Although I do think you're right. It does seem bonkers. I'd be best off with the newer version...
I'll keep saving my pennies.
Re: Anyone bought the new Macbook?
Well, as if to prove I can't make up my mind...
I bought a last generation (Santa Rosa, LED backlight) Macbook Pro last week. 2.4GHz, 256MB Nvidia, 4GB RAM, AppleCare until August 2010, 22 "cycles" on the battery, boxed and in perfect condition.
Needless to say I'm extremely happy :) .
