1 year warranty on parts & labour, 90 days on phone support - though you have to phone them up to get any RMA.

Applecare brings both up to 3 years.

Well as ive said before i have booked numerous repairs with apple and never been charged for it.

The support fee is for software related issues i would imagine, much the same as major pc manufactures who charge £1 per minute on software lines.

the laptop & software's probably worth about £650, the dvdrw's worth about £100. as far as i can read the 2nd hand prices market, anyway. brices on ibooks vary wildly.

After the 90 days, phone calls are free if it is a warranty issue. Chargable if not a warranty issue.

Hex is probably right on the pricing front, mebbe 750-800 all in?
