Buying an iMac 2....
A friend of mine wants to get an iMac 2 and has asked me for some advice. As I don't have a clue when it comes to iMacs, I thought I'd ask here. :D
Firstly, my friend needs a floppy disk drive. Can we buy just any old USB drive or does it have to be one specifically designed for Macs?
Secondly, we're planning to get it from Micro Anivika (sp?) on TCR. Would they do an educational discount on hardware the same as Apple do online? I know it isn't much (£100 on a £1800 20" iMac 2) but it would be nice to have.
Umm... I think that's about it. Thanks!

For floppy drives, really just check the back of the box or the manufacturers website to check compatibility, but I would think most external ones are marketed towards Mac owners anyway.
i don't know about getting an educational discount, best to ask really.

You should be OK with the floppy drives as long as you dont get a proprietery one, like an IBM one designed for an IBM laptop, which a lot of the online ones seem to be. Just check the specs before you buy.

I think you need non-apple drivers for OS X....
