From the looks of that connector (I may be wrong, it isn't a great photo) the keyboard could use any USB extension, but only a Mac keyboard could use that extension.
That really does seem pointless.
It's also not like Mac keyboards can only be used on a Mac, I believe they will work on a PC as well. Liekwise, (specialist) PC keyboards are often used on a Mac.
When did you get that cable? I think Apple have recently developed a unique design to prevent two two electrical circuits from bridging.
I'm lost. How exactly do you plug this keyboard in then ?
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Which two electrical circuits?
It's a standard USB keyboard that had a notch taken out of the connector to it can use their unique extension cable (I presume the cable is for when it's used with a tower vs. an iMac). I somewhat doubt there is a problem with circuits bridging with a USB connection, it would be common knowledge if there was an issue.
Doh!
I believe DDY posted a funny... and I missed that
I need more coffee.
You can't use their extension lead with your other devices so you must now go and give money to another company to get something that works. Yeah, nice marketing tactic Apple.
But Apple is about the only company that could do something like this and not surprise me...
I guess they just want to discourage use of that extension cable for anything else, but I agree, it seems a bit silly
