Question Starcraft 2 with no DVD Drive

    Hey all,

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - I wasnt sure where it fit best.

Basically I am after StarCraft 2 for my Mac which generally isnt an issue however my 'super' drive recently stopped reading any CD's or DVD's (it just takes a disc in, ticks for a while then spits it out).

I was condidering getting an external DVD drive and a copy of the game which again isnt a major problem but I was looking for a way to save some money on this.

I am assuming this isnt possible due to copyright issues that would arise but is it possible for me to get a copy of the game, put it onto my PC laptop, make a digital CD image of the disc and then put this onto a pen drive and use it to install onto my Mac? Like I said id imagine this is blocked but would be interesting to know if its a possibility.

Oh and I have also notice their is a Digital Download option ... but this costs £10 more than a hard copy and I was hoping to use my Amazon voucher I recently got from work

Thank you for any replies in advance.

    Kind regards,

You can download it from Blizzard fine, then just activate it with your Amazon code. (or vice versa)

Oh I didnt know you could do that!
That is pretty cool thanks for the heads up.

I hate to think what the size of the download is going to be ... still I guess it will be a good test of my new Virgin Media broadband I am getting next week!

Thanks for the info - much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

you should be fine with virgin media, the digital download is ~7GB so best to leave it overnight
