The Lenovo looks like it is in standby mode? I mean I'd expect to see POST messages or something otherwise you can't get to BIOS and the other bits? Hmmm

If i put mine in "Fastboot" mode it doesnt display any screens, pressing the Thinkvantage button or del still gets it to the BIOS, and if it were in standby why would it take so long and display the windows loading screen?

That's true i agree. but me thinks SSDs are the way forward. less weight, less or no moving parts, generally fast boot times & shutdowns and may i add fast loading of programmes as well?

Once you own an SSD, you cant ever go back! Those who dont own them cant even begin to understand the difference it makes

Re: Macbook query from a soon-to-be convert

I'm actually buying a 13" Macbook pro tomorrow (wednesday) over the phone and i've decided against the 15" one because i really think its an overkill considering what i plan to do to it.

So far my trip to Regeant Street this afternoon was productive. got almost all my questions answered and was impressed by the machines so far.

Only thing is iTunes. i love my music and i love listening to my Android phone/MP3 player going to & from work. i usually use a 3rd-party software to oraganise my music files. but that software has no Mac alternative.

And i just wish i can customise the 13" just a wee bit but...i can't.

Winamp for PC does this if you also use Winamp on your Android handset. I believe the Mac version of Winamp is also capable of syncing.
