First Generation Macbook Pro to SSD?

I have a 1,1 version Macbook Pro (Core Duo) and was wondering if there would be any comptability issues upgrading the stock 5400 rpm to this:

Want to try and grab it now as there are good deals on.

Go for it, i've had four of those OCZ drives running in HP desktops for nearly a year now, no issues at all...

There are little tools available now which enable TRIM support on Snow Leopard, so that might be worth applying if you haven't already. It's worth reading around a bit about the drive you select though, as some perform their own garbage collection routines, and so don't work well with TRIM applied. Also, make sure that the "internal TRIM" functions that some drives boast aren't just for NTFS formatted drives, as that's a bit useless for Mac!

Hi, did you ever get around to doing this? How did it go? Would love some advice too. Sorry for a bit of a thread hijack here but have Just had my first SSD arrive for my new desktop build (128gb Crucial M4). Was thinking that before i build the desktop i'd give this ago and see if i can get the SSD working in my Macbook Pro, incase i decide to upgrade it's HDD later.

    Current Setup:
    Late 2006 Macbook Pro (Model details A1211, MA609, version2,2)
    Running OS X Tiger 1.4.11
    Using Bootcamp
    To run WinXP Pro

I've found a good guide on how to physically replace the drive here http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/MacBook-...lacement/459/1

Anyone know of a good idiots guide on how to clone the HDD with both partitions over to the SSD.

Nevermind the above now, managed to make a spanner of myself in trying to clone the Windows partition, meaning i now have to do a fresh install of Windows anyway. At least i don't have to go through the trouble of cloning it anymore i suppose.

Yeah think of it as a fresh start. I'm fitting an SSD to my late 09' MBP and lawd... the change is astonishing.
