Airport Express - Who here got them?

If you got one or want one, ramble here! I think that this is a great revision to the Airport Extreme and AirTunes is a nice addition.

Of course many will say "I did that XX years ago on my PC with winamp" - stfu, you've not seen the 'beauty' that is OS X

It's small, portable - but not *cheap cheap*, but if you hunt on eBay the going rate of a new sealed unit is £70 + p&p.

What's the audio quality like? Does it play any format that iTunes plays (eg does iTunes send an audio stream, or does it send the file to the Airport Express and let the express decode).

Audio quality is great BUT I've noticed that it ramdomly makes the speakers 'pop' when not in use...mmm, it's not my cable either.

And yes, the audio is completely streamed across via wifi I like it alot as this means that my powerbook is 'less' tied to the desk as it's my music/iPod hub.

Strange. It only happens after I've stopped streaming now and then. I think I also know why. I'm using the included 'adaptor'. I'm not sure if you guys know this, but the longer power cords by Apple (supplied with chargers for the laptops only) has the inner lining as a metal contact - i.e. it is EARTHED!

So my APX is not earthed and this could be the reason for the poping after I stop streaming. Of course I'm sure yours isn't earthed as well (using the supplied plug top by Apple) but it could mean you got better quality power is all.

    Hrm...
