Its a bit quiet here. But I'll give it a go. What do you use your old Mac for?

www.lowendmac.com has good email lists, but not great forums...xlr8yourmac.com has some old stuff too. There's a site called system 6 heaven (IIRC) but I think thats a site rather than a forum...

My old macs are currently all sitting in cupboards, until I get bored with Windoze (again)!
    Well Hello!

I'm on a few of those. My sister has a Quadra 800 that she hung on to when I told her to sell it a few years ago and now it sits there doing nothing. Which is a shame because its a great machine. Its completely mint. If it was a 486 I could use it as router or a mail server or even a print server. But I can do nothing with the quadra. I've also been offered a few imacs very cheap. Their video isn't working but I've seen a few mods on the web where you can out them into a PC ATX case and use them with the video out. Was thinking of doing this. Then I thought to myself. What on earth would I use them for.

I'm doing some IT courses at the moment it would be great to have a little network going so I could play with networking and stuff. But I'm starting to think an old PC would be more use than an old Mac. Which is a pity because I really like the classic Mac OS. Runs great on old hardware.

Provided you don't multitask. The old MacOS is horrible at multitasking; even Windows is better than it.
