They aren't really replacements to the exisiting iPods IMO, more like a line designed to run alongside, at least for now, until ultimate convergence brings video into the mix.
Yup! They are selling the 4G ones as well, good idea...there are many people out there that just don't care for carrying their images on their iPod...like me
I'm waiting for some sort of video/wifi integrationI'm holding out till 5G anyways...even though one could argue that this is 5G but it's still the 4G design with 3 optimizations: color screen, better battery, bigger HDD...
Wifi would eat the battery, and I'm still waiting for integrated WiFi on PalmsBest I've seen so far is the Sony PEG-TH55, which looks delish.

They have, the new G5 powerbooks are floating about, got an email yesterday offering them at 2/3's the price of retail for this Uni. Keep a look out on their page they should appear soon.

does a mp3 really need the color screen?
It does when it can be used as a photo viewer and to display Album art. Note that the other iPods are still available, you don't need to get one with the coulor screen.
