Is this worth it?

I've been offered a 2 year old 12" G3 800MHz iBook for about £275 at work (surplus to requirements)..

Seeing as you can get a brand new G4 1.2Ghz iBook for £700ish, do you lot think it's worth it, or would I be better off saving up and getting the new G4?

I'd buy it for £250, which I think is a fair price.

hmm, reading into it the G3 seems a tad limited in terms of expansion (640MB max ram, 11b only wireless), unbeatable are selling the new ones for £689 too..

£689 is a helluva lot more than £250 though.

Chances are you could get £250 if you resold it in a couple of months anyway.

I'd pay £250 today if I could get my hands on a clean G3 800 12" iBook.

I just love the portability of the 12" and the 800mhz is more than capable of running panther.

Hmm, looks like some other git is getting them by flexing more corporate muscle.. (probably for next to nothing!)

So I've said sod it, and I've ordered a new G4 ibook from Apple (0% interest for 6 months too!), just need to call them up to get the various forms
