    ATI gfx in G4?

    Ok, simply put, can i stick a surplus AGP ATI Radeon 9600 into my silverface G4? Do they even have an agp slot?!

    technically reflashing a pc card is 1) illegal 2) depends on a card with a larger bios chip, to accommodate the larger mac firmware (can be hard to track down)

    is it possible to update the pc bios firmware with mac bios ?

    illegally, yes, if 1) your card has a large enough bios chip to hold the larger mac bios file. this is NOT guaranteed

    I cant see how it is illegial apart from possible copyright issues with haveing a ati-mac bios without a ati-mac card. however arnt these biosesfreely available to download fromatis site? Iassuem they have normal bios's on there.

    Acctually they probably dont, I exect the only bioses on the net have been ones ripped from consumer cards...

    yup, it's the bios code which is copyrighted, FYI, ATI doesn't have bioses available for download, all those bios images on the net have actually been ripped out of consumer cards.

    the bioses on mac cards are apple copyright, and not available legally for download. part of why the cards cost more - the ever present Apple Tax
