need to remote admin OS X machine from OSX or WinXP

    Hi all,

I need to be able to remote desktop to a Mac OS X 10.3 (panther) machine over the internet from either or both of my WinXP PC or PowerBook G3 (also 10.3 panther). I understand there's something called Apple Remote Desktop but that looks like some big enterprise network admin thing as well and the price on the Apple US website was $299 for a 10 user licence.

Is there some equivalent already in OS X 10.3 of the Windows XP remote assistance thing? Some official Apple solution for home users? Would I be better off just using TightVNC?

If you don't like OSXVNC, try Chicken of the VNC.

Incidentally, for remote controlling XP from a Mac, I find the combination of Remote Desktop and the OS X Remote Desktop Client to work superbly.
