    Cool 64-bit Mac

    Some time ago there were rumours that Intel secretely made Mac processors (I don't really care!). I am un-informed as to the architecutre of a Gx processor but is there any chance Mac may go 64-bit - or is that imposible with the processor architecture on one?

    The G5's are 64 bit. The OS atm is not fully 64-bit, but will probably be shortly.

    Extremely minor correction: IBM/Freescale make the processors. Motorola "spun off" their CPU arm.

    Anyone tell me what "spun off" actually means??

    Basically...The CPU division are now their own company.
