I guess all I want to do is stop any neighbour with a PC using my wireless network.
I guess if somebody really wants to crack my network they will.
As I said the ibook/Belkin set up is fantastic so I don't want to cock things up.

My main concern is not really someone cracking my network more piggy backing it for free internet access. If my network shows on my PC what's to stop it showing on next doors?

when you put encryption on i.e WEP or WPA etc. That stops them from being able to connect to your network and leeching your internet connection.

The problem is Apple said there was no way of entering the encryption code into the ibook so I have not set up WEP. I have visions of setting it up on the router and then not being able to get the ibook online. So at the moment I have no security features set up.

I find it strange that you cant enter any security for the ibook. what wifi card do you have for that a standard airport thingamabob? I dont mess around with macs much so dont know why you cant.

surely one of you mac heads must know whats going on?

The Mac people don't leave the Mac area often, should we pull them out of their hole? I'd like a Mac - too expensive though

Edit: Sorry, we are in AppleJuice!
