Using the Xserve as a Windows Domain Controller

    Hi all,

I'm trying to setup our G4 Xserve as a windows domain controller. In other words i would like our pc's to be able to log in to a doman created on the Xserve. We currently have Windows 2000 running as our domain controller but i would like to test out the software that comes with Panther Server.

Has anyone else done this before? If someone on this forum is apple mac techy then i'll go into further detail.

    many thanks

    darren

    good luck!

I've seen linux boxes used as a DC ( runing samba ) but not Apple kit - coudl be intresting. I like the xserve as a NAS unit , but thats about it for me.

Its got some great software built in for running a Mail and FTP server, im going to give it a crack over the next week.

From what i can see i've set it up but when i go to input the new Domain address it throws up an error saying cannot save current address........no idea why, tried loads of different addresses!!!!!!!!!!!

Will keep you informed, might even have it running this afternoon if im lucky!
