    Questions

Im thinking of getting a 15" powerbook, instead of a pc.

    I have some questions.
I have photoshop cs for windows, will gimp be any good? Will it run in tiger?
Will open office easily replace m$ office?
Do apple products break, ie do i need extended cover?
All i will be upgrading is the RAM to 2x 512mb, should i consider anything else?

    Thanks, Apple newbie

EDIT: I think that iphoto is all i need for a lappy.

1gig of ram should be good, tho you may want to get it from somewhere other than apple as they charge over the odds for it. Check out crucial or kingston

Apple cover is quite expensive but its worth considering to give you cover for 3years

Nope. Take it out before you send it in for repair anyway. That's what I did when I upgraded the wireless on my notebook to 802.11g from the b it came with.
