    ipod connection

    Hi,

    Have just delved into the wonderful world of apple and bought a 20gig ipod. Having problems though. I don't have firewire or a mini usb connector on my pc. Has anybody any idea's on what i can do?

    What connections do you have? It should have come with a normal USB lead!

    nope its come with a firewire lead and a adapter to a usb mini

    That's a 4 pin firewire adaptor, not a USB adaptor.

    You'll need a firewire card in your pc.

    I'm assuming this isn't a brand new iPod as well.

    So it can't be connected by usb?

    Sounds old, the new ones come with full size usb only! Apple retailers will sell ones compatible with 3rd, 4th gens and minis.
    Not around too often!

    Does the iPod have a firewre socket on the top, or a dock connector on the bottom?

    If it's the former, then you will have to add firewire in someway or another. If it has the dock connector, then you can buy a dock to USB2 cable and plug it into you PC that way.
