I've not had any trouble with it yet...
Whats happening?

It would seem to be not installing properly, and sometimes taking out people's internet connections. It certainly managed to disable my wireless card software! I would just seem to be really buggy, which doesn't make sense as I had it installed perfectly just before I had to reinstall windows for an unrelated reason. Bizarre. People are getting really het up about the lack of support from apple on the website. Even on a sunday!

Working fine on mine to, out of interest its not happening on wifi enables machines more than machines with wired network connections? If so I would hazard a guess its Appletalk messing something up.

It would seem to be an error in installing the latest copy of quicktime for windows. People have had sucess when installing, quicktime, bonjour and then itunes separately. However because of the traces that a faioled install leaves in various parts of windows, this is proving difficult.

I've had it installed and been using it for a couple of days now, and I'm yet to have any problems with itunes or quicktime, but thanks for the warning anyway.
I had a problem wit 4.x, where it would periodically stop my PC booting entirely (ie missing processes etc), started with 4.7 iirc, however on installing 5 it fixed it? Maybe I am special after all.......
Had no problerms installing it, just starting it
Kept not working every time I tried to start it. Then told me quicktime was missing. The tried to uninstall quicktime and it told me it WAS missing.
Uninstalled itunes and re-installed it all and no luck.
Another uninstall and deleted all filed pertaining to Quicktime/iTunes, then a re-install did the trick after much annoyance
The problem is that apple are not admitting that there is a problem! And the apple discussions page is no use in trying to get to apple because you just get shouted down (abeit in a polite way), asking have you tried this? Or this is not the place to be asking apple what is happening! I have tried all of their fixes and am now just resigned to reinstalling windows and iTunes 4.9, which I have found for download elsewhere. Luckily its a new install so shouldn't be too much trouble.
