Best way to get DVDs/vid onto a Video ipod with a Powerbook

A friend of mine has been given a Video iPod as a leaving gift from work. She wants to use her powerbook to put some DVD's and video clips onto it. I have done it with a PC, but whats the best, easiest (and free) software for doing this on a mac? I'm an idiot when it comes to macs. Is there anything like Videora for the mac?

    Cheers

you need to convert the files to mp4 format...

I think you can try some video converting software for PSP... they convert video clips to the same format (mp4)
