Moving photos from iBook to PC

My iBook has nearly 5000 photos on it and I think it may be slowing things down.
My Dell PC has a 180 GB HD and hardly anything on it.
I wanted to copy a lot of the older photos onto the PC.What is the easiest way to do this?
Would it be to use a USB memory stick of some sort?
Would a 1GB iPod shuffle do it?

    Thanks

networking cable is by far the quickest way,

burning them to cd is another alternative

yeah, flash drive of some sort

lots of ways of doing it really - i take it your home isnt networked?

unless you have almost filled your iBooks hard drive, the amound of data on the disk will not effect performance significantly, if at all.

that is unless Macs operate in a completely different manner than PCs in this regard.

    Ethernet?? yes..
networking macs to PC's?? don't bother trying. ive been trying to network my ibook to my desktop PC, its a real bastard trying to get them to co-operate with each other.
have finally succeded, after months of pain.
Ethernet?? dont bother... just use a usb drive or your shuffle, even if it will take a while.

Photo's won't slow down an ibook.

As said above, the file system is completely different to a PC and so the volume of data doesn't have an impact.

    Thanks for info.
Have borrowed a 4 GB usb drive to transfer photos.
I will leave them on the iBook and back them up to PC.
