Exclamation Problem with my windows iPod

    Hi Guys,

I've got a 2nd Gen 10GB Windows iPod and whenever I leave it plugged into my computer and I startup it up it performs a consistency check on the iPod. This takes ages and I can't cancel it unless I catch the check within the first few seconds of it starting. Is there a way that I can disable this as it is rather annoying or is it actually a problem with my iPod. It has never been the most reliable of things with it corrupting itself every so often. Thanks in advance for your help,

Need to know what OS you're on, and what software you have for your ipod.

Sorry Guys, I'm on XP (with every patch under the sun!), and this all happens when I startup. I use ephpod mostly but have used musicmatch in the past and it has still happened. Oh and the same thing happens using iTunes for Windows.

Go into your iPod manager and uncheck "enable disk mode".
You have the ipod setup to be seen as a normal harddisk. This is useful if you want to direct copy over a library but with disk check on it's bad.
Turning that off will make the iPods drive hidden.
