SO which is the best best free image editing software for mac?

I downloaded GIMP 2.2.10 for mac, and i just dont understand how to get it to work, and how to install it.

I have unzipped it all etc, but it still won't work. Can anyone give me some simple instructions?

So which is the best graphics/photo editing program for mac? For free and for a reasonable cost?

I mainly want to resize images, but i also like doing editting etc.

Can you get paint shop pro for Mac...it's cheap, very intuative and in my opinion better than photoshop for general useage.

Assuming you are on a budget...

Apple bundles with Pro systems, GraphicConverter - http://www.lemkesoft.de/en/graphcon.htm which is $30 shareware otherwise.

Your other option is Photoshop Elements from Adobe which is cheap compared to Photoshop but jolly functional.

Also try installing fink and grab Gimp. I've been living without Photoshop for a while now and for basic image manipulation it is great. Some people use Gimp for advanced stuff as well
