I'm so glad I got my mac a good couple of months ago. It's perfect for everything I need and I can't hear it

Yep i saw that; only does it have bluetooth and wireless???

Otherwise decent price so long as it comes boxed with software etc etc

Same here Famished i totally agree; however mine does seem to get a bit noisy when i do somethings, or when opera freezes. I have actually been having loads of problems with opera recently but it may just be the LAN conection at uni.

My mouse sometimes just stops and I need to unplug the USB cable and the reconnect it but apart from that it's fine. Looks like the new mac mini has been made with HDTV in mind (Cheeky story on my site )

Famished for a mouse, i sincerely recommend the lx5 from scan.

pretty cheap, 2 button, wireless (with just a usb thin thumb drive thing), and fully compatible with osx

battery lasts up to 8 months (supposedly) and it is sweet; i never knew wireless mice could be so good, i always thought there would be major problems with tracking etc, but no problem whatsoever.

I already have a wireless mouse, the Logitech MX7000 I think. Works fine apart from the odd crash

The system I have here works silently... can't be that much different from the thermals on a Mac Mini

(funny how so many mac fans moan on endlessly (and un-informedly) about TCPA)

Thanks for giving me a chuckle.

Dam Apple and their sneeky sceeming........
yep I bought a Mac Mini two weeks ago.....
I did realise that an intel one was on the way but I thought that was due in the summer
oh well, what do I think about the new one? bit expensive, but still much cheaper than the other macs tho.

new boombox is rather lame... boring just doesn't hit it.

PS happy St Davids day everyone!

Woh, this is like the one time I've said something good about apple, and i'm been acused of trolling!

The duo, is quite neat, you've got to admit that it would make quite a nice "lounge" box, for playing music, but also have nice snappy response times for running programs, heck i was thinking i could even see myself developing on one.

Well I've just put my money down for a refurb 1.42ghz mini. For £255 its a great deal and I just couldn't justify spending double the amount for not much difference.

Call me crazy but I ordered one of the Core Duos (as my earlier mini has been shifted to the Office @ home in Colombo) with everything stock 'cept a 120gig HDD. I was really hoping for 128MB of GFX RAM at least but 64 will suffice. It should make a decent 'all round' machine for the master bed room and is costing the same amount I paid for the older mini in June last year.

I'm also not interested by the front row crap as I'll be controlling most of my media functions via my denon remote + G5 and the most 'media' this mini is going to see is probably streaming music thru iTunes

I'd be over the moon if I could get Debian running on something this small tho

    Cheers, Mike

you can get a debian based linux running on any machine you can get a live cd which doesnt install anything to test it out.

if you visit www.ubuntulinux.org they is more than plenty on offer for a guy wanting to experiment with linux on their apple. atm i am running an imac tray loadin' 233 with ubuntu breezy badger quite well
