Tidying Desktop

My desktop is now such a crowded mess it's time for a spring clean.

Can I delete things that have been downloaded to my desktop without loosing the application?

When I listen to samples of MP3 files from eMusic.com {fantastic site btw} they end up on my desktop. How do I send then to another folder that is easier to manage i.e delete them all.

Just select the files you want to move/del on your desktop, then right click

Or alternatively,

Run -> Search -> Files and folders, make it search your desktop for "mp3" (without the quotes) to pick up the mp3 files, then del them all
