Is there any MP3 player better than iPod?

    Hi guys,

    As topic suggests, is there?
I've been looking for quite a while, and to be honest, I have seen mp3 players that are aesthetically nicer, but the capacity and functionalities of the iPod seem to be cheap as chips for the price?

    Thoughts/Comments please:]

    Thanks,
    epi

Thomson have just released an mp3/wma player thats smaller in every dimension than an ipod iirc and has a 10gig capacity as well as 10 hr battery lifespan. Doesnt look as sexy as an ipod tho

The Philips player looks pretty nice, though is it there first mp3 device? If so, it could be dodgy?

The general viewpoint is to buy an iPod then yeah? Though can say a 20gig iPod be justified for the price tag that it comes with?

The Phillips doesn't seem so good in the hand. The UI isn't as intuitive and fast as the apple, and the controls arent as well laid out... I don't think its worth it for the money.

I'm weighing up buying an ipod or waiting for Iriver's ihp-120 - 20gb hard drive, 14 hours battery life and FM radio, which is a bit of a kicker for me.

I can't say any of them look as nice as an ipod tho If only they had better battery life and a radio...

the iPod does have a radio, you can buy this accessory from the apple.com site which will give the function of radio to the iPod, battery life though i'm not so sure about, though what you could do is just buy a spare battery and charger, really considerin the iPod, friends just bought one and its pretty nice, was hoping it was smaller in size and thickness though, was bigger than i expected in that way, and it's pretty heavy, though it is basically a hard drive.

Thanks for the link. It looks like it should be a good piece of hardware, shame it's a bit ugly though!

Im inclined to agree. It doesnt seem that there is anything better than an ipod but the thomson and philips players are good competitors

personally im happy with my 35gramme solid state player. I wiuld get an ipod if i could afford one but its rare that i listen to more than an hour of music

Had my I-pod for about 3 months best computer thig I ever bought apart from the earphones which I switched to some cool white sony ones that I got from the US. My battery has lasted from my home to Hull in the car which was about a 8 hour drive and it lasted all that time blasting out metallica all the way and then 30 minutes when I got there I have not got a single complaint about it!!

Does anyone know if the creative zen jukebox thingy is any good? I'm thinking of buying one, cheapest price seems to be @ the creative website.
