One question, is this the only part of WWDC '06 where new apple products are announced? Or will we here more announcements later on in the week?

I suspect there may be a few more bits surfacing as people get to play with bits over the next week, but as a rule of thumb it's generally only the Keynote speeches that annouce new products and major updates

Yup, not much there other than the Mac Pro, but most people know exactly what would be in that anyway..

Didn't expect Dual Dual Core as the base config though..

Edit: cheapest model actually £1,439.01 using 2GHz processors and a 160GB drive..

So what's up with Time Machine?

"Time Machine uses up your hard drive, so you don't have to."

Surely it means that when you delete something it actually NEVER gets deleted?

I love the way they present adding silly backgrounds and effects to video conferencing as innovation. Putting a web page on your desktop...Windows 98 anyone?

Yes, i've done it (see other thread in this forum)

Runs nicely on my base-spec macbook (none pro)..

I'm a bit dissapointed with the new Mac Pros, looking at getting one at the end of this year and the base graphics card is poor However, swapping it out for an X1800XT and then dropping the CPU speeds gives you decent graphics for the same sort of price..

Looks to be around 1200quid for the base spec model with Higher Ed discount - not bad at all price wise

Now I just have to convince the guy from our work who's there to lend me his leapord DVD when he gets back next week hehe
