I want to know where mine is

2 iPod's and a MacBook all registered with all the 'subscribe me' things ticked.. guess they must think I'm already hooked and remaining happy with them

I have four products registered with them, I gotta be honest I really like the way the Apple is built around the customer rather than the other way.

    You've fallen for the hype.

Let's see if you'd have such a high opinion of them if you were one of the people with duff iPod batteries and scratched Nanos.

My nano is 11 months old - not a mark on it and it still looks brand new. I bought a £15 'dual layer' case for it (iSkin) which includes click wheel and screen protectors.

IMO, all small devices are (especially) subject to marks/scratches etc.. and so I think it's only prudent to have some sort of protection. If you don't bother, I can't see any reason for complaining

my sony HD-3 hasn't been scratched at all....

The way i'd describe an email like that is nando's chicken house. bare with me as this will not make sense if you've not been to one.

But nando's is half-way between fast food and a restraunt, you sit down at a table, go upto till to order (and pay) food arrives. So when you'r given your table, you're given a green chicken squewer with your table number. Once all food has been delivered and you've started eating, someone comes along and always asks "is everything to your liking?" the real reson they come is too remove the table number stick to indicate as soon as no one is sitting on table 7, clean it.

Now some people say (i used too) thats quite nice, makes the susauge factory feal more personal. But really when say you want more chicken, they can't actually do anything, if you want some more rice, they can't help.

I hate automated emails as much as i hate "your call is very important to us".

So nando's chicken house, for all you chickens.

Heh I got that in an email, thought it was really thoughtful - not just a little comment at the bottom of emails saying you can opt out, but an actual seperate email!

I also love Apple as I am typing this while my MacBook is buzzing away in the background creating a 74min image from SparkXL without taking a hit in browsing speed Windows would grind to a halt while your doing something so CPU intensive

I'm sorry, but whats so special about this? I have had this from countless companies. They all give the option to unsubscribe.

    Also no.. Just no.

Windows 95, the pile of crap os. That had pre-emptive multithreading (good). Linux got that in 2.6. So don't spout such crap.

OMG, thats amazing! They must have spent millions doing that.

I'm sorry mate, no offence, but that really made me cringe.

Some people are obviously far to easy to please.

Well they never sent me one. I'd be annoyed if they did. I'm perfectly capable of opting out of email lists if i think they are junk, there is no need to patronise me.

@ TheAnimus - I used to be an avid Windows user although if I was creating a mixdown in Cubase I was totally unable to use my machine for anything else - I'm just saying OS X can multitask far better than Windows

@ autopilot - I know it's effectively spam but it's just nice, I know Apple are like the worst company for recycling, they have the 'desireables' image which a lot of people think is shallow but they are innovative and come up with different ideas other companies don't!
