I've had enough of problems with SilverKeeper so I'm looking for some reliable software to help me back up my iBook to an external hard drive.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I use synk works very well.
I also use ibackup as well.
I've heard good things about a program called SuperDuper. Haven't tried it myself though.
Anyone tried Martian LifeBoat ?
Use iBackup, its perfect
Is iBackup not just for online storage?
I would like to backup to my external hard drive.
SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner
I used to use Silverkeeeper for my LaCie firewire external, flirted with CCC but settled on SuperDuper after repeated suggestions. It wors a treat - even the slightly crippled free version.
Can it create bootable backups? Does it cost?
Should i stop being lazy and google it?
This looks like it might be handy for daily backups - in tandem with weekly bootable backups with SuperDuper (free version which doesn't do incremental)...
Thanks for the heads up.
In the end I went for SuperDuper ( paid for).
I tried a few but this one seemed the best.
So far so good.
The internet, and I commend your choice.
There is a link to a lengthy comparison somewhere on my hard drive(s) that details something particularly important about how SuperDuper is the only one to preserve some important cruft when imaging a bootable drive. All good basically.
