Hey Nick,
Did you ever give this a go? I'm thinking of doing the same thing....
/me is doing this, but under linux using vga so it probably doesn't count
Yeap, got it all sorted. I'll post some pictures and details soon.
Yeah ditto, would really like to get rid of my noisy xbox setup and use a mac mini for some HD goodness!
DirectHex, out of interest, why are you using Linux? I'm pretty platform agnostic, but I would have though that OSX is ideal for this, plus you don't need to worry about drivers for the remote etc....
the apple remote is largely useless for me (changing channels without number keys? no thanks)
and whilst i'm confident i can fix issues and problems under linux, the same can't be said for a closed system like osx
so whilst osx is a pretty os for creative types, it's not right for me and i don't feel it's right for a dedicated media front-end machine (more of an appletv type thing than a normal osx mac mini)
So you have it plugged into Digital TV tuners too then?
Here are some images of the Mac Mini in action with my HDTV , it's actually really easy to use the Mac on a massive screen but would get annoying after a while.
Front Row is amazing though as a media player! Excuse the mess, once I get a new PC I'm going to install the Mac Mini under the TV and organise everything :)

Looks brilliant!!!
I connect my Macpro to my screen the other day and it looked nice from a distance. You wouldn't want to use it close up.
Great pictures, i might give it a good soon as well!
HOW BIG IS YOUR DOCK! Try out Quicksilver :P
Looks nice, I often use my MB on our projector in the living room and frontrow really does work very well, although still doesn't like HD movies.
That looks great nick, just two questions:
How did you get those icons for your frontrow?
And what resolution are you running that at on the HDTV?
I downloaded the icons from http://guistyles.com/index.php
Not 100% sure of the resolution as I'm back on my normal screen now for a week before I get my new pc.
Cheers for the icons, looks fantastic!
