Car Alarms?

Recommendations and prices Guys, thats wot I'm after.

Must have the following:-
CAT 1 approved
Tilt Sensors (Stop alloys getting pilfered)
Full Boot/Bonnet/Interior protection

Nice features I've seen and would quite like, but not essential are:-
Remote Start
Automatic Window Closing on arming the alarm

Brands like Clifford, Toad etc? They any good?

I see Clifford Alarms are on G5, so does that mean that all there G4 alarms aren't worth buying?

This is the thing, I've no idea!!

I guess 500 is my top figure.

Is it a case of "get wot ya pay for"?

I have no idea, what a "top of the range" alarm can even do over and above what is listed above etc.

Clifford are probably the best Cat 1 & 2 manufacturer you'll come across, saved many a mates car form being pinched. bass junkies are quite cheap for all audio and alarm kit, have a look around

Clifford do one that cover the spec u supplied for around £400.

Not a fan of alarms. Immobilsers yes, but alarms.. nah.

Ask yourself this, when was the last time you saw a car alarm going off and actually paid attention to it...

But if there's a lot of noise going o outside your own house you'd pay attention.

Installation of an alarm is the critical bit. Check out a few installers, ask to see previous work etc. The reason being that a poorly installed alarm is worse than no alarm.
Last thing you need is false alarms, or an alarm that can be bypassed in seconds because the wiring is easily accessible.

A decent CAT1 alarm install should take a full day, even if they've installed on your particular vehicle before. After the install you shouldn't be able to see anything of the alarm other than the LED and possibly the siren

One of my mates swears by his Clifford Concept 300 and another by his TOAD so they r equally as good
