I personally like the BBS rims as you see on M3 CSLs, but I don't think they'd suit anything but a heavily modified Calibra.

The rims you've selected look good, but I'm not sure what they'd look like on the Calibra.

More chins than a fat bloke with lots of chins...

body kits are the most pointless and annoying modification possible. InfactI wasjust thinking, if i damage somones bodykit, can they claim? as long as I dont damage any stock part of there car can i crash into them at will? hmmm...

I dont like the modified look of cars, mostly becuase its the same car underneath with bits of painted cardboard ducktaped to the front.....

so long as the kit is declared on the insurance yes they can claim.

I dont find the kit at all offensive or OTT but i think it extenuates the lines of the cally rather nicely.

How can you think any 6 series looks good? Come to think of it how can anyone think any Bangle designed BMW looks good? They are all as ugly as sin.

I really dislike the current BMW's, they just have no design coherence and lack any kind of elegance. It is a good drive i.e to steer but it will take your spine out over any kind of bump and the engine really doesn't sound special, oh and the SMG gear box is crap.

Give me a CLS 55/E 55/63 anytime, maybe not quite so focused but much better all rounders.

Personally I would take an e39 M5 any day of the week, and the good news is they are falling into the sensible price category. Just now they are going to cost a fair bit to maintain

have you heard that new m5 lump rev? obviously not its a beast of an engine that revs to 8.2k.

Actually I have driven both, I used to work for Cooper BMW. And so therefore yes have heard both and they really do not compare to the AMG 5.5 or 6.3. They are far tinnier and racier, may rev high but it doesn't mean it sounds good.

As for the E39 M5, now that is a real car. Amazing engine in both performance and sound (like having a full squadron of Sptifires in front of you) and looks sooooo much nicer than the E60 5 series to look at inside and out.

But yes they cost a fortune to keep on the road.
