    What do ya think?

Ive been looking at alloys and like the look of the BK299s but i really wanted black ones to go with the black car, and ive always liked the polished lip look

Ive seen these.... BSA Livewires 214's

Have any of you guys heard good or bad things about these?

Id be running them on 205 / 40 / ZR17's and ive got the car lowered 40mm all round.

    So what yall think

    Cheers

(btw car they would go on)

Don't like the 8 bolt holes thing (unless you use all 8 ) but the actual wheel looks nice.
Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.

I would say they're an improvement over the ones on it now but generally agree with schmunk

Wolfrace do some similar wheels which I prefer.. might cost a bit more though. It's a 5 spoke iirc.

Nothing wrong with the car! Calibra's are good if well looked after, especially the redtop ones or turbos. At least it isn't a pug 106 or citroen saxo VTR or other typical boyed up French hatch!

Not sure about the wheels though, as was said earlier look at the Wolfrace stuff, they do some very nice styles that would suit. Or maybe get some calibra wheels from a high end one?

what you mean by "at least its not a typical boyed up French hatch!" who mentioned french hatchbacks?

i didnt say calibras were bad i just said that spending a large amount of alloys for it may not be the best thing to do if it could do with some engine work..

As in that is the type of car these sort of wheels end up on (especially round here). I doubt the wheels are that expensive, £700ish? Which seems reasonable for a car like that. I wasn't insulting French cars, just that big wheels like that always seem to be on them and it reminds me of chavs!

As for the money itself that is why I suggested some actual vauxhall wheels. And remember engine work will cost more on the insurance (I know that the wheels will up it but not as much).

yeh thats fair enough its a shame that so many rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish driver some of the hot hatches because they are actually quite fun little cars, but have been ruined by chavs speeding through town centers in them..

wow hadn't realised it started a debate!

The callys had its engine rebuilt around 4000 miles ago, and is a redtop so is a decent engine, (only 150 bhp but for the time being its enough)

those alloys are 530 with tyres or 450ish without so i wouldn't call that a bad deal tbh. I quite like the multiholes and i had vaux alloys on it, they aint nice. The ones on at the mo are 17" wolfrace alloys. All of the std cally alloys are 15 or 16".

I chose these because i like the DTM style alloys on callys they really suit

    //Edit

Heres a cally with dtm style alloys on
