Best place to sell a car? (London)

I'm looking to sell my Landrover Discovery II and need help on the best route to take.

I normally just chop them in at the dealers when buying a new one but this time the new car is coming from elsewhere.

    It's a 2003 diesel, 7-seat SE thing so worth a few bob - something like £12k I guess.

Where would you guys recommend trying to sell it?

    TIA

I have personally had a reasonable degree of luck with selling on eBay. But judging by the things some sellers have written in their description sales on eBay don't always work out.

If you do decide to list on eBay, do not accept PayPal for the whole balance (I wouldn't even use it for a deposit or partial payment), and describe the car fully & honestly.

A few friends of mine have had good results advertising their cars on pistonheads.

Whack it on gumtree as well

pistonheads is really normally more aimed at the performance models of whatever car.. and is normally overpriced

I paid to put my advert on the Autotrader website for something like 7 days, and then within 1hr of my advert going live, I had somebody come around and test the car then buy it straight away! I then kept getting loads of calls every 10 minutes enquiring about the car, and I had to keep explaining that it had been sold, then got fed up and just switched my phone off So I think autotrader website is an excellent place to sell as I had an excellent experience with it and it seems that loads of people check it very frequently!

Guntree is also a good idea as I have used it for a couple of thing before

incase you havent done it yet... i can vouch for autotrader, my family has bought and sold a couple of cars from adverts on there as well as a few friends... im not sure of the costs to advertise now but its not that much, and well worth it imo. just make sure you word it right and tell the buyers what they want to know.

Avoid ebay - you won't get as much as you should for it and the opportunity for endless hassle is too high!
