HEXUS admin in non shed runabout shocker!

not since the Mondeo have I had a daily drive that hasn't looked ilke it was dragged through a hedge backwards.

well the end of January arrived and I still hadn't hit my overdraft , so I decided to treat myself and get a new runabout with a slightly better fuel economy than the 3.0 v6 on the Sigma - of to ebay I toddled.

    and searched

for about 10 minutes untill I found this beaut:

Its a 1998 Xantia 2.1 Td - little bit larger than the usual 1.9Td the french standard TD usually has , the engine was more commonly found in the XM or pug 605 TD's.

Its in a nice colour and in really rather good nick

am very happy with it! best £750 I've spent for a long time !

We had a Xantia estate a couple of years ago and I remember it being very comfortable! The air suspension is quite good fun too. We had a petrol version so don't know about the diesel

Talking about turbo lag... we're getting new vans VERY soon to replace our aging Nissans.. Fiat Scudo Maxi's with the 2.0 multijet Diesel... they're superb, espesh when you wind them up to 2000rpm.. then as Zak says.. "WhoossssH" and waway they go Beautiful to drive something with 120 horsies when you're used to nearly 70

Oh and good buy... it's French, and a Citroen, but it was only 750 so that makes up for it

yeah it is a little bit laggy but no worse than the nissan - I'm used to driving with an accelerator connected by an elastic band

the lag on the 306 was quite bad - but then again I was running about 19psi of boost.

For £750, its a great buy (if you got a good one). Ride quality still can't be beaten.

Re: HEXUS admin in non shed runabout shocker!

I'm really impressed by the quality of it - previous owner was a little local postoffice owner/manager - I got stacks of service history with it , back seats look like they have never been sat in

getting used to the usual xantia quirks like the brake pedal with microns of travel and at a funny height
