    ABS error light

My ABS error light came on yesterday but it seems to be very intermittent.

When I'm going down a hill it lights up and then when I go up a hill it generally turns off. There is no noticeable difference in breaking ability but my right front wheel seems to be making a small rubbing noise every time it turns.

    Any ideas?

    Re: ABS error light

It's gotta be the sensor, which should be on a front axel you would think (?) and so may be linked to the noise - has the wet weather brought it on?

    Check your brake fluid level.

    Re: ABS error light

Remove the fuse for the ABS and the system should be safely disabled and the light should go out.

    Re: ABS error light

if the light comes on your abs has been disabled, no real risk apart from being ready to pump the brakes if you end up skidding to a sudden halt.

its not worth messing about guessing what parts failing, myself after a bit of looking around have found a local guy who is a car engine diagnostic center.

they do a code read service for £20, they read the code and tell you whats come up on the list, you go away and fix it or pay them if its beyond you, and then they will reset the code included in the 1st £20
