how easy is it to change the stereo on a saxo. i know ill need the replacement fascia thing, how do you fit the new plates

what sorta saxo?, my mates 1.1i is standard size, so in and out job, but my other mates furio has a oversize stereo, so he had to mod it abit to fit snugger.

Lo mate, I have a VTR and the stereo itself went in pretty easy. No fascia adapter required for a standard sized HU. The main ballache with mine was running the live feed to the battery (most hu's dont require this so shouldnt be an issue unless you go for something mid-top end).

Fitting new speakers is where things get annoyingly tricky. Feeding wires through the door hinges is near on impossible and have to be drilled iirc.

Me and pee just took the easy option and used the exisiting cabling

cheers its not my car it a girls at work whose asked if i can swop it for here. have fitted a car stereo for a little while plus wasnt sure what size the fascia slot is. if it is a din size how easy is it to remove and how do you do it

Mine wasnt that hard to remove, I dont believe in buying the special tools to remove them just get an old wire coathanger

get a haynes manual and have a look in there - should tell you. otherwise buy the stereo from halfords n they'll probably fit it for free

I wired a new... [can't remember the name for it now!] in to my car which youw ould then plug a smart lead in to and then in to the back of your radio.

fitting a radio is very easy - even if you do need a facia to make it sit properly
